Well, hello there!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update, and A LOT has happened. I’m going to recap my summer in this post, then hopefully get back to a more regular blogging schedule.
In Quilting News…
I’m in the process of updating my logo! You may have noticed the cover photo change on my Facebook page, and the color change to my website. What do you think? I personally love it!
I launched my very first quilt pattern! The Scrappy American Flag pattern is available in my Etsy Shop. I have also listed precut quilt kits if you want to make your own Scrappy American Flag with the same variety of fabrics I used in mine. I love this quilt and I loved writing out a pattern for it. This was my first foray into pattern writing, and I’m hooked! I have lots of ideas for future patterns so I’m excited to see where this takes me.
If you are part of my Facebook page (and you should be if you’re not!) then you might have seen that I opened up my waitlist for custom orders. Making quilts for other people is my favorite part of quilting. I love playing with designs and fabrics that I wouldn’t normally choose. I’m currently working on a tan, gray, and navy woodlands creatures baby quilt. I can’t wait to show you more of this quilt once its finished. The navy fabric from Dear Stella is amazing, and is easily my favorite part of this quilt. I want to buy more of it so I can make something for myself!
I have some secret sewing and other projects that I’m working on, but you’ll have to wait to hear about those. 🙂
In Life News…
The biggest event of the summer was our move to Georgia! If you didn’t know, my husband is in the Army. In late June, we PCS’d (Army speak for “moved”) from Kansas to Fort Stewart, GA. We’ve been here a few weeks and I already feel pretty settled in. Our house has this large coat closet right when you walk in. I’ve claimed that space as my “sewing room”. It’s a tight fit, but I prefer to think of it as cozy. I just need to make some mini quilts to decorate this space.
Your turn… How has your summer been? Did you get to take any awesome vacations? Tell me about it so I can live vicariously through you!
