Happy New Year!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted much of anything, so I thought I would take the time to reintroduce myself with some fun facts! I took a break from the blog/social media aspects of my business towards the end of 2017. I had a little too much on my plate, and needed to simplify my life a little. I love the promise and potential of a new year, so I figure this is as good of a time as any to jump back in with both feet. On to the fun facts:
— My name is Julie. I live in Georgia with my husband, our daughter, and our two dogs.
— My husband is in the Army. In the last 4 years, we have lived in Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, and now Georgia. I’m really looking forward to NOT moving this summer!
— I grew up in Texas and attended Texas Christian University. I went to Louisiana Tech University for grad school, but I still bleed purple and white. #gofrogs
— I am an Athletic Trainer. Not to be confused with personal trainer or physical therapist. We are the people in khaki’s and polos running onto the field after a player gets injured.
— I started quilting in 2014 after I bought a sewing machine on a whim. I taught myself how to quilt using mostly blogs and other online resources. My first quilt was an American Flag that still hangs in our guest room!
— My favorite color is (navy) blue, but everyone assumes it is purple because I have a lot of purple TCU stuff.
— I grew up playing soccer, but as an adult, I started running. I’ve done several half marathons and one full marathon. I found out I was pregnant, 10 days before the full marathon. So technically, my daughter has done a marathon too!
— I have some fun things planned for Running Stitch Quilts in 2018, and I’m really excited to get to work. I’ve got a new pattern in the draft phase. I look forward to releasing more details on that soon! 🙂
I hope to be on the blog more this year, so leave me a fun fact about you so I can get to know you better too!
