Starting this blog coincided very nicely with the link up for the Q2 Finish-a-Long group. Here is my list of projects I want to get finished in the next three months:
American Flag Wall Hanging
I am working on writing my own pattern for an American Flag Wall Hanging in two different sizes. I want to complete one quilt of each size following my pattern to test them out. The fabrics should be here today (fingers crossed!) so no picture of this one.
Last month, I started making patchwork Christmas stockings for my family. I finished two: one for my daughter and one for my husband. I still need to make one for myself. This is a quick project that shouldn’t take too long to complete. I really wanted to have these for my daughter’s first Christmas, but somehow never found the time after she was born in October. Who would have thought a newborn would make it hard to find time for quilting!?
I am so excited about this project. I have pulled together all the fabric I will need to make a queen size quilt for our bed. I’m using a disappearing 4-patch pattern from Moda Bake Shop with a few modifications to increase the size. But, I want to make two pillow shams to try out this pattern on a smaller scale before I tackle the big quilt. My husband is deploying later this year, so I will probably end up saving the big quilt to do while he is gone.
I am using this tutorial and making my daughter a Woven Fabric Easter Basket. Holidays really are more fun when you have kids. I am loving making holiday themed things for her. I have the base of the basket done, I just need to finish the top and handles.
With everything else going on in the next few months, I think this is a pretty solid list of potential finishes.
